Whether you are new to weaving or already have some experience at the loom, this beginner focused four-day workshop will introduce or reinforce the essential skills of loom weaving. Students will learn the fundamentals of project planning, warping a loom, threading, and weaving, while engaging in a meditative exploration of the senses.
Over the course of the workshop, we will awaken our awareness through color, texture, and pattern, and explore how our bodies respond to sensory experiences such as music, calming sounds, and gentle scents. This immersive and thoughtful approach encourages presence, creativity, and a deeper connection to the ancient practice of weaving. Outcomes will include a collection of handwoven samples and a deeper understanding of the weaving process from start to finish.
