Wintering Craft Retreat

Wintering Craft Retreat
This week will be an exploration of slow fiber processes and material language. Working with wool and the felting process to make a small wool vessel, plants and the natural colors they offer for a collection of hand-dyed cotton napkins, and a variety of basket-making processes, we will spend time learning through making, observing, and experimenting.
Winter is a time to slow down, rest, and observe. Through careful observation and playful engagement with land-based materials, we will reconnect with the rhythms of the season and discover the possibilities held within simple, natural materials. Learning new processes and experimenting with familiar ones, we will spend the week with our hands busy, our minds recharging, and our attention grounded in the present—ready to enter a new year of creativity.

One spot is saved for a scholarship position. This scholarship covers 50% of the total cost of the workshop experience. I believe that Craft is essential to our well being, but capitalism has other priorities. If you would like to incorporate this learning experience into your life but its full cost would challenge your expenses and prevent you from meeting your financial needs, please email me directly at melanie@wildearthtextiles.com to see if this opportunity has filled and to set up payment.
