In this five day hands-on workshop we will learn about how to use plants grown in the Warren Wilson College’s dye garden to create a rainbow collection of fabrics. The first half of the week we will learn about mordanting techniques on cotton fabric, and dyeing with indigo, madder root, and various flowers. We will then take the fabrics and learn how to sew a tiny art quilt perfect for a pillow or wall hanging. The class will meet in the fiber arts studio on Warren Wilson’s campus each day beginning at 9am. There will be an hour lunch break from 12-1, and then another session from 1-3pm. The priority deadline for registration is April 15th, but all spots may be filled significantly earlier. Cost $650 +$50 materials fee
